I just watched the episode on Teen Suicide. My God! What a powerful and heart-wrenching presentation! These kids have so much to say….It must be very rewarding to know that you are doing so much to help young people by producing such valuable programs. Their world is so complex and stressful. Thank you for all you do.

I just wanted to thank you for allowing me to be on the show [“Student Voices: Dying to Be Thin,” 04/26/07]. It was absolutely amazing! You all did a great job. I loved the set, and everyone was so sweet. Brian was a kick, and really fun to work with. It ran much smoother than I thought it might, and it was nice to be able to talk about a serious topic with such level-headed kids. If you ever need me again, I would love to come back. Everyone was awesome and a blast. Please pass my thanks and gratitude on to everyone in the studio!!!

Much thanks,
Angie

"This show has the WOW factor all over it! The production quality is outstanding. Both interviews were lively, informative and fun to watch. From the intros to the graphics to camera and editing—truly outstanding! This program could rival any network production."

“WOW! You guys did a fantastic job putting [“Student Voices: Teen Suicide”] together. I don't know if any of you have experienced depression and/or suicide in your family or amongst your friends, but believe me, from all of the comments we've received from people viewing Bryce's film, etc., you guys need to know that you will be responsible for saving lives for generations to come and improving the quality of life for families that will avoid suicide and seek mental health treatment. ”

Each time progressive people like you throw reality in the face of conservative adults who restrict these sensitive topics from being discussed, you contribute to eliminating the root cause (the stigma) that keep people from seeking help.

Thank you is an understatement. (“Student Voices”) -- Tom, Denise, Bryce and Blake Mackie (plus the rest of our family and friends)

“Your Student Voices program on teen suicide hit the mark. It showed not only the impact of suicide on all involved (friends, family, and those who attempted), but also answered the question "What can I do to help prevent it?" I think the program would be a great tool to be shown in schools. You handled a very difficult subject with taste and directness. It was a program that was painful to watch but left me with hope that the epidemic of teen suicides can be stopped. Great work!"

Partner Station Directors

“MetroBeat TV…is becoming an important local broadcasting asset.”
-- Dusty Saunders, Rocky Mountain News, Sept. 7, 2006

“This programming partnership with Comcast represents a paradigm shift that is ahead of the regulatory curve. It shows how serving our mutual customers is a matter of asking them what they want and then delivering it, because it’s good business, and not because it satisfies some regulatory scheme. This is grassroots programming that harkens to the very reason that the cable industry became an industry in the first place.”
-- Byron West, City and County of Denver, Colorado

“The local Channel 8s and Comcast have provided programming that creates a sense of community. This project is driven by viewer suggestions and input -- what better way to get the community involved and really focus on what matters: ‘my community, my town, my home.’”
-- Kit Lammers, City of Lakewood, Colorado

“Over the past year, KCCB Channel 8 in Broomfield has seen its programming line-up expand, featuring more local issues, events and services. Now, with MetroBeat TV on the schedule, we are providing Broomfield residents with information about other people and places in the entire Denver Metro area. It is a true gem, touching on issues and events that the mainstream media doesn’t cover. We’re fortunate to have such quality programming available to us.”
-- Kim Greason, City of Broomfield, Colorado

Elected Officials

“The MetroBeat TV project is a great way for communities to showcase their local people, events and unique features to the whole metro area. It's especially exciting that through the MetroBeat TV site, the public as a whole gets the chance to suggest story ideas and influence upcoming programs. I'm pleased to be on the content review board, where we take a look at such suggestions and make sure all parts of the region are represented as programs are developed. I'm especially happy to see these programs offer content about real issues affecting teens and seniors in our communities.

“We appreciate Comcast for taking the lead and working with all our communities to create terrific local programming; the MetroBeat shows are much better than anything most individual communities could do on their own.”
-- Noel Busck, Mayor of Thornton, Colorado
